In this article, an installed truck scale in Baku is presented. First of all, a brief explanation about Baku is written. After that, the project is elaborated.
The economy of Baku is dominated by Petroleum, which has provided the majority of foreign exchange earnings. This city is really strategic and profitable for Azerbaijan.
Where is Baku?
The capital and largest city in Azerbaijan, as well as the biggest in the Caucasus region and on the Caspian Sea, is Baku. Baku is the largest city in the world below sea level and the lowest-lying national capital of the entire world due to its 28-meter depth below the sea. On the Bay of Baku, on the southern shore of the Absheron Peninsula, is where Baku is located. As of 2009, the urban population of Baku was estimated to be two million. The capital of Azerbaijan is Baku, the only metropolis in the nation, and about 25% of the population resides in Baku’s metropolitan area.
The city serves as Azerbaijan’s scientific, cultural, and industrial hub. There are numerous sizable Azerbaijani institutions with their headquarters. Baku developed into a location for significant international events in the 2010s. It served as one of the host cities for UEFA Euro 2020 and hosted the 57th Eurovision Song Contest in 2012 as well as the 2015 European Games, the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games and the European Grand Prix in 2016. It was also the final host city for the 2018– 19 Serie Azerbaijan Europa League. Two million tons of general and dry bulk cargoes can be handled annually at the Baku International Sea Trade Port. As evidenced by its moniker, the “City of Winds,” Baku is known for its harsh winds.
Petroleum is the largest industry in Baku, and its exports of petroleum account for a significant portion of Azerbaijan’s balance of payments. Petroleum has been known to exist since the eighth century. Marudee, an Arabian traveler, claimed that both white and black oil were being naturally extracted from Baku in the 10th century. By the 15th century, surface wells dug by hand were used to extract oil for lamps. The Baku oil fields were the largest in the world by the start of the 20th century after commercial exploitation started in 1872.
By the end of the 20th century, drilling had expanded into the sea offshore and a large portion of onshore petroleum had been depleted. Specialists and skilled workers flocked to Baku by the end of the 19th century. The city had more than 3, 000 oil wells by 1900, of which 2, 000 were used to produce oil for industrial use. Before World War II, Baku was one of the biggest centers for the production of oil industry machinery. Who would control the Baku oil fields was the subject of the World War II Battle of Stalingrad. Baku produced half of the world’s oil supply fifty years prior to the conflict.
With the development of the massive Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field (Shallow water Gunashleri by SOCAR, deeper areas by a consortium led by Bank), the Shah Deniz gas field, the expansion of Sangachal Terminal, and the BTC Pipeline, Baku’s oil economy is resurging.
The Baku Stock Exchange is the largest stock exchange in Azerbaijan and, by market capitalization, the biggest in the Caucasian region. There are a sizable number of multinational corporations with their headquarters in Baku. The International Bank of Azerbaijan, which employs over 1, 000 people, is one of the more well-known organizations with its headquarters in Baku. International banks with locations in Baku include Credit Suisse, HSBC, and Société Générale.
Installing a Truck Scale in Baku
The largest and most important industrial zone of this province is located around it. Major industries in this area includes food and petrochemical products.
It is necessary to use truck scale due to the nature of the industries and products produced in Baku Industrial Zone. All installation steps are listed below. In September 2022, Pand Caspian Technology Company installed a truck scale in this region.
Assessment of the installation location and planning
In order to receive preparation instructions, the representative of Pend Caspian Technology Company, which is in Baku, visited the scale installation site and sent video reports to our experts in Tehran.
Following the initial investigations, the client received the preparation instructions, such as how to remove the installation site’s slope and prepare the ramp site. All preparations instructions were made in accordance with international standards, and the implementation processes were carried out under the company representative’s supervision.
Installation of a Truck Scale Mechanically
It is crucial to note that all metal truck scale components were delivered to the installation site. The truck scale deck and its pillars were installed after the site had been prepared, but ramps had to be fixed after the electronic installation.
Installation of a Truck Scale Electronic
In this step, cables are connected to the indicator and load cells are fixed beneath the metal deck. To complete this task precisely, a professional technician and careful attention are required.
Accuracy and Functionality Testing of a Truck Scale
It is now time to test the accuracy of the truck scale and its functionality after the mechanical and electronic installation has been completed.
Finally, truck scale weighs various cargoes repeatedly and evaluates the precision of scale functionality. This step gives you the chance to re-examine the installation procedure to solve any potential errors.
